This video is a travel log this year. We recorded in Austin, Nashville, Toronto, 6 Nations, Dunnville Ontario, Toronto, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Korea, Hawaii and a few other spots I can't remember.
It's the teaser video of the new Inaba/Salas project.
The tour in Jan/Feb is a hot ticket with scalpers charging a fortune which is great for the buzz but a bummer for the fans since they are mad expensive and beyond sold out BUT I am looking forward to doing the shows with Koshi
( btw Google Koshi Inaba record sales and read about this amazing artist who has sold over 100 million records).
Koshi and I are old friends who have worked together many times. He called me this year in need of some excitement so together we came up with the concept for this record...Very Alternative yet very Funky...The Clash meets 80s funk.
I dropped everything including a European fusion tour that I desperately wanted to do the the great Mahavishnu bass player Jonas Hellborg and started flying to Japan to write with Koshi.
We had some of the best musisans in the world to work with so it was great fun and a creative release for both Koshi and myself.
Check the video out that has some cool peeps in it like Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters, Armand Sabah-Lecco, Logan Staats and Adrian Harjo,Bernard Fowler, Ricky Peterson and a ton more.
The touring band is Matt Sherrod ( Crowded House, Beck) on drums, Stuart Zender ( Jameraquoi, Mark Robson, Amy Whinehouse) on bass and Amp Fiddler ( P-Funk, Seal) on keys. It's gonna be beyond!
My film RUMBLE will be debuting at Sundance around the same time as I'm in Japan so I will video confrencenin for the festival from Japan.
Remember the Japanese rule If Rock Hard No Can Defence...Well that's actually made up by my Austin director friend Geoff Marslett!
