Went to a store in Nagoya yesterday and was glad to see our new Inaba Salas Chubby Groove CD is still in the top 10 section with the hits.
Tomorrow is our last show for this Winter tour and it's been so amazing with the beyond sold out crowds singing every song and losing their minds with our amazing band.
I'm getting some great fan mail and gifts too and trying to answer all that I can.
Also since Koshi Inaba put the pig on the cd cover (because he likes Matt Sherrod's pig Dolly at his Nashville studio that you can see in the Sayonara River video) but now Japan is pig crazy.
I get a zillion pig stuffed animals and pig stickers every day now.
One fan even made me and Koshi into pigs!! Also the word Chubby is part of so many Jaoanese people's rap now...They scream Stevie you are so Chubby...I say hey I'm trying to eat less but of course they mean Chubby as in phat or cool or great. Also our video for AISHI-AISARE is now at almost 995 thousand views.
I think it should hit 1 million soon. Old people like me don't get new band videos that have a million hits
( keep in mind that's for just one country really not the whole world).
SO for that I am so so humbled. ...To still be relevant at my life's work is so important to me so yes I'm blown away.
My friends at home never knew this but from 1990 til 1999 I was really popular in Japan ( google Stevie Salas Fuji Rock 99) SO I was use to this madness and expected to be successful back then but now I'm 100 years old and am really so thankful. I Love Japan #INABASALASTim Godwin

Amp Fiddler and yours truly on the bullet train bound for the promise land...Hmm well maybe not the promise land BUT we are headed to Nagoya Japan to play our 2nd sold out night there and last show for the Inaba Salas Chubby Groove tour in Nagoya ( we had 15 concerts and all were sold out in minutes...Someone sock me in the nuts please!).
In 1985 Amp and I started our careers with George Clinton. In 1987 we were in England rockin Top Of The Pops with Was ( Not Was). In 1988/89 I signed with Island Records and I got Amp a record deal on Elektra records.
After a ton of years, records and madness we are now as old as dirt BUT with the #2 record on the Japan National Sales Chart. My advise is this...Great friends and great musicians are no accident. Keep them close and if your lucky a little of their shine will light your path.

Great show tonight in Takamatsu Japan. This was another really small special show for about 1 thousand fans. My Japanese manager Riki took this shot of me warming up in my dressing room a couple hours before showtime then he took this shot of me and Stuart Zender...I look like the red light caught me with a suprise sucker punch in the face! I'm LOVING these new custom shop Framus IdolMakers too!!
